David Mond

Debt Resolution Forum Chairman

David Mond is the founder and Chief Executive of the AIM-quoted IVA and DMP provider, ClearDebt Group plc.

David is a Chartered Accountant and Licensed Insolvency Practitioner and for the past 41 years has specialised in personal and business insolvency and related matters.

In 1993, David was elected to the Council of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals (R3 formally SPI) and served until 2003 and during that period acted as Chairman of its Small Practitioners Group.

David currently sits on the Stakeholders Group of the Ministry of Justice current review into the regulation of debt management plans and is currently involved in talks with the Treasury regarding publicly funded debt advice. David was one of the founder members of the Joint BBA/Insolvency Service IVA Standing Committee, (which successfully made the IVA process as smooth and certain as possible for debtors and creditors with the promulgation of the IVA Protocol which led to the Protocol Compliant Individual Voluntary Arrangement (PCIVA)).

David succeeded Chris Holmes as Chairman of the Debt Resolution Forum on 13 October 2008.

 

Gill Wrigley

Gill is a chartered accountant and also qualified as an Insolvency Practitioner in 1997, authorised by the Insolvency Practitioners Association.

In 2003 Gill established Haines Watts IVA Limited in response to the increasing levels of personal debt in the UK. The business was acquired by Tenon Group in 2008 and merged with Tenon Debt Solutions where Gill remains the Director.

Gill has extensive experience in all areas of insolvency, having completed 10 years of corporate insolvency work at PWC before specialising in IVAs.

Gill is a member of R3, The Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Insolvency Practitioners Association, and The Debt Resolution Forum.

 

John Hall

A graduate Chartered Accountant and Licensed Insolvency Practitioner, John built Invocas Group plc from scratch and took it through a successful flotation on AIM. He has a total of 24 years' experience of working with financially troubled businesses and individuals, gained in both England and Scotland.

Following University, John spent time in a variety of roles with both Arthur Andersen & Co and Ernst & Young before founding Haines Watts’ Scottish Business Recovery & Insolvency practice in 1998. This business quickly grew to become a major player in the Scottish market and the pre eminent provider of personal debt solutions to distressed consumer debtors in Scotland. Following a strategic appraisal, John successfully rebranded the business as Invocas Group plc and led it through an AIM flotation in March 2006, becoming Chief Executive.

John is now Group Development Director at Invocas and also runs IROS Consulting, an independent consultancy providing turnaround services and strategic advice to SMEs. John is also R3 Council Member for Scotland.

 

Neil Bowler

Since graduating in 1990, Neil worked for a sub-prime and specialist lender in various positions within IT and Business Development.  He left in 2001 to form his own consultancy business and quickly became involved with Gemstone Financial Management.  Neil joined the board of Gemstone in late 2001 as Finance Director.

Neil has been a Director and the Company Secretary of the Debt Resolution Forum since its formation.

 

Chris Holmes

Chris has worked for 25 years in financial services, the majority for LloydsTSB and Barclays, including Retail, Life Pension, and Investment, High Net Worth sectors. He has held various leadership roles, including Sales Director and Executive positions.

Latterly, Chris has run a mortgage brokerage, been CEO of a Debt Solution business and is currently CEO of The Bankruptcy Protection Fund.

For DRF, Chris has been involved from inception and has just completed 2 years as Chairman, with specific Board responsibility for the successful development and launch of DRF’s professional educational qualification.

 

Beverley Budsworth

Beverley Budsworth is an insolvency practitioner with over 25 years' experience in dealing with debt issues, previously spending 17 years with an international firm of chartered accountants specialising in personal and business insolvency.

In June 2000, she established The Debt Advisor and The Business Debt Advisor, one of the first firms to offer comprehensive advice on all debt issues.

Her experience of dealing with personal debt issues led to her being asked to join a number of government-led working parties in 2004 and 2007 to look at ways of simplifying the formal procedures of helping people out of debt. In addition to being an active member on the Debt Resolution Forum Board, Bev is on the Insolvency Practitioners Association’s - Personal Insolvency Committee.

Beverley was recognised by the industry in 2008 when she was awarded the prestigious titles of national 'Debt Counsellor of the Year' and 'Personal Insolvency Practitioner of the Year' by Credit Today.” Bev is a regular media commentator often appearing on 5 Live, BBC News and BBC Breakfast.  She is also regularly quoted in The Guardian, Daily Telegraph, The Observer, Daily and Sunday Express, and the Sunday Telegraph.


Andrew Graveson

Andrew Graveson is the Managing Director and founder of Bright Oak Ltd. The company provides debt advisory and debt management services throughout the UK.

Andrew established Bright Oak in early 2007. Prior to this he was Commercial Manager for a national debt-help group and has previously held Directorships of insolvency, debt advisory and mortgage broking businesses.


Mark Broadstock

Entrepreneur, Mark Broadstock, established Smooth Financial in 2006, after a number of years holding senior positions in financial advisory companies. Since its inception, Mark has rapidly grown the business into a market-leading debt advisory service with an annual 280 per cent increase in turnover. Mark is a director of the Debt Resolution Forum and is committed to ensuring the industry is fully compliant.

 

Suzanna Walker

Suzanna comes from a banking background spending 10 years with Lloyds and its various subsiduary businesses.  Starting in sales, Suzanna then moved to training and  eventually compliance. 

She has worked within the Debt Management / Insolvency industry for the last 15 years and now holds the position, Head of Compliance, with her current firm. 

She joined DRF in 2009 and has acted on two sub committees assisting in CertDr and advising on compliance policy. She is FSA qualified and a trustee of Citizens Advice Bureau.
