The Debt Resolution Forum promotes professional standards for resolving debtors’ financial problems, focused on the quality of advice provided to consumer debtors by all DRF members.

This website publishes the standards to which our members have committed and provides a directory to help you find an organisation that meets your needs.

This website also provides:

  • Details of how to use DRF’s conciliation and independent complaints service
  • Details of the Certificate in Debt Resolution – the only independently accredited qualification for people who work in fee-charging debt advice
  • Our independent research into debtors, creditors and debt solutions
  • The independently monitored standards our members must abide by

DRF members approach debt resolution by identifying the solution and outcome which is the most appropriate to the financial and personal position of the debtor, while demonstrating to creditors that the proposal made on the debtor’s behalf is reasonable and achievable.

The DRF Membership Standard has been accredited against the Money Advice Service’s Quality Framework. This means that the Standard is independently monitored to check that it continues to evidence meeting the Quality Framework requirements.

Only category A DRF members, being those subject to a full membership audit can make reference that they are subject to quality requirements that are accredited by the Money Advice Service.

No other category member can make any reference or can infer that they are covered by Money Advice Service accreditation.
