The two trade associations of the debt industry went head to head in a battle to win cricket match in aid of Help for Heroes, over £5000 was raised by the event.

Thursday 4th July the two trade associations for fee-charging debt solutions providers went head to head in a cricket match at Styal Cricket Club in aid of the veterans’ charity “Help for Heroes”.

The Debt Resolution Forum (DRF), based in Timperley, have 30 member companies around the UK.  The DRF won the game by one run (128) with 3 balls left. Debt Managers Standards Association (DEMSA) clocked up 127 runs. Over £5,000 was donated to the winners’ charity of choice, Help for Heroes.

Simon Lee, COO from ClearDebt, a DRF member company based in Timperley comments:
“It was a great night, the weather was kind to us and Styal Cricket Club were very hospitable.  The atmosphere was electric and I was personally delighted with my score of 26 runs not out.”

David Mond, Chairman of the DRF, comments;
“The charity cricket match between the DRF and DEMSA was a super way to get us working closer together. Thanks go to Nick Pearson from Paymex, Matthew Cheatham from Harrington Brooks and Andrew Graveson from Bright Oak for organising the event and a special thanks to Richard Wharton from DEMSA for umpiring the game; we hope to make this an on-going annual event.”
